Author Danielle Sosin

Danielle Sosin, author of The Long-shining Waters, will speak at the Library on Wednesday, July 24 at 7 pm.  The book was chosen as the South Dakota Humanities Council’s 2013 One Book South Dakota selection.

Sosin’s book follows three women through the changing seasons of a pivotal year in their lives. Their lives are separated by centuries but linked by their common experience of living on the shores of Lake Superior.

This program is made possible through a grant from the South Dakota Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Axis 360

You now have more eBook choices through our newest eBook service, Axis 360. Click on the Axis 360 icon and you'll be taken to the Axis 360's Magic Wall. There you can check out and download up to three eBooks at a time and can choose to check out the eBooks between 1 and 21 days. The collection includes books for adult, teens, and children. Most of the eBooks include two formats to choose from, ePub and Blio. The Blio format can only be read on the Blio app and this app can be downloaded to your computer, tablet, and smart phone. The ePub format eBooks can be downloaded to Adobe Digital Editions and then copied to an eReader, like the Nook or Sony Reader. You can also download the ebook app called axisReader. This app lets you search, check out, download, and read ePub format eBooks from our Axis 360 collection. Unfortunately, at this time, you cannot download these eBooks to any e-ink Kindle eReaders. Those with a Kindle Fire tablet, though, will be able to download the Blio app. Let us know if you have any questions.
